History of New Spain
We are a friendly and respectful group of people interested in reading great books about the history of New Spain in North America, mainly in the area which would become the United States and Mexico with a heavy focus on the El Norte borderlands.
Our Weekly readings will be posted to our Colonial American History Reading Group Page.

- 1491 (Second Edition): New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus by Charles C. Mann
- 1491 is not a chronological history, the title is a metaphor for pre-contact Native America. Even though it is not directly connected to New Spain, it provides an essential study about the people European settlers encountered. The author also attempts to dispell some strongly held myths about Native America again essential to be able to study any part of Colonial America.
